HapaxOS 3.10
- Expanded Step Drum: Tracks now support up to 16 drum rows (press up or down to scroll through the 2 pages). Instruments Definitions and Midi Drums Import/Export also support the 16 lanes of drums.
- Live Drum Layouts: Added three new pad layouts (8, 4 and 1–Velocity, in addition to 16–Velocity). Accessible via Settings > Misc > Live Drum Pads.
- New Effect — Spring: A versatile new slew limiter featuring a resonant/oscillating mode alongside a preshot feature.
- Global LFO — Flat Waveform: You can now set Global LFO A or B to a static "Flat" waveform (0% to 100%). This is especially useful for creating custom macros routed through the modMatrix.
- Effect Filter — Velocity Range: Added Velocity Min and Velocity Max parameters, allowing you to selectively filter notes based on their velocity.
- Chance FX — "Use Velocity": Added a new discoverable parameter where note velocity scales the chance percentage to calculate the final chance amount.
- Autom Mode — Ping Automation MIDI message for easier external MIDI Learn (select the lane, hold 2ND and press the Ping encoder).
- Autom Mode — Rapid Event Creation: Holding an empty pad while rotating the Value encoder now instantly creates a note directly on that step.
- Autom Mode — Row Values: You can now hold a row (the [←] pads) to configure its default value. Any new event added to this row will automatically inherit this value.
- Effect Automation Recording: When recording is enabled, rotating an FX parameter encoder (in Effects Mode) will now actively create and record events automation.
- Quick Effect Automation Lane Creation: In Effect mode, holding REC and pressing (or rotating) an FX parameter encoder will instantly generate an empty automation lane for that parameter (and enter the Autom Mode).
- Step Mode: Fixed a bug that made it impossible to delete notes when the HOLD STEP CAPTURE setting was turned OFF.
- Autom Mode: Addressed an issue where CC events were not being sent if interpolation was disabled and values hadn't changed. Every event is now reliably transmitted.
- CV/Gate Outputs: Fixed an issue where Gate Retrig failed to trigger when two notes were adjacent but not overlapping.
- Arpoly effect: Fixed possible stuck notes.
- Hardware: Fixed an issue where the OLED screens would remain permanently OFF on certain units.
- UI Polish: redesigned some interface elements for better clarity and aesthetics.
- Added smooth feedback for various effects.
Thanks to its dual-processor architecture, Hapax can record and transform tremendous amounts of data in no time, without a hitch.
Composing a beat: control up to 8 different instruments with a single track. The drum sequencer is tailored for very easy rhythm writing and jamming.
As music-making should remain an enjoyable process, we favored dedicated buttons over key combinations and imagined a clear-cut interface as well as a simple architecture. We have striven to minimize the importance of screens for live performing, but the dual grayscale display helps keeping track of things in a studio context.
