The FT201 Analog Filter / 10-Step Sequencer is our innovative voltage controlled vactrol state variable filter combined with a 10 step sequencer. The FT201 is capable of providing ultra low and high frequency filter effects which are controllable with the on board infrared expression controller, which allows the user to create filter sweeps by moving their feet or hands over the pedal. The FT201 has 3 different filter outputs: band pass, low pass and high pass, which all work simultaneously and are accessible as outputs on the patch bay. The cutoff frequency range is very large, between 20 Hz and 20 kHz and because of the vactrols used the sound quality is superb. The 10 Step Sequencer runs through the selected amount of steps (2 – 10 steps) and adds the control voltage to the value set by the Cutoff knob, thus modulating the cutoff frequency in every step.
All KOMA Elektronik pedals are shipped including a 9V DC powersupply, manual / documentation.
Features
Control it! All the KOMA Elektronik pedals have an on board motion controller which allows the user to control most of the features of the pedal by just moving a hand, foot or other object over the pedal! And it’s easy as 1,2,3 to set it up: just patch the CV output of the sensor into a CV input on the pedal and you are in control!
Slide it, twist it! The FT201 is a pedal with a lot of different knobs: 3 knobs to control Sequencer Speed, Sequencer Length and Filter Cutoff. Besides the 3 big knobs, you’ll also find 10 small knobs on the pedal. These knobs can be used to change the cutoff frequency of every single sequencer step. This so you can make filter sequences. The 10 small knobs are relative to the big cutoff knob, so you filter through the full register by just turning the main controls. In addition to the standard knobs we fitted the pedal with 2 sliders to control the Input Gain and Resonance.
Patch it! The CV and audio patch bay gives the user control of Cutoff frequency, Sequencer Speed, Resonance and the cool function to reset the Sequencer. There is also a Sequencer Out, which allows the user to use the FT201 to control other KOMA pedals or for instance a modular synth. Besides the normal Audio Input, the FT201 has 3 different Audio outputs: Hi Pass, Band pass and Low Pass, which work simultaniously.
Attenuate it! On the back of the FT201 you’ll find – next to the DC input – trimmers to attenuate all the CV in- and outputs of the pedal. You can easily set the sensitivity of the sensor and the input voltages of the Cutoff, and Resonance CV inputs and the output voltage of the Sequencer CV output.

Knobs, Switches, Sliders and LED’s
- INPUT GAIN – slide control which allows the user to set the input gain of the plugged in instrument or line audio signal.
- RESONANCE – slide control to set the resonance of the filter. Please note that due to tolerances in the vactrols every filter sounds a bit different and amounts of resonance can vary with each pedal.
- SPEED – rotary control to adjust the clock speed of the built-in sequencer. If turned fully counter clockwise, the sequencer is off and not routed to the cutoff of the filter anymore.
- SEQ. LENGTH – rotary switch for defining the length of the sequencer pattern from 2 – 10 steps.
- CUTOFF – rotary control to to adjust the cutoff frequency of the filter.
- SEQUENCER CONTROLS (1 – 10) – rotary controls to set the control voltage of each step of the sequencer pattern. The sequencer is running through the selected amount of steps from left to right and adds the control voltage to the the value set by the CUTOFF knob, thus modulating the cutoff frequency in every step.
- EFFECT ON LED – indicates if the effect is switched on or bypassed.
- FOOTSWITCH – Heavy duty Alpha foot switch. Turning the effect on or off.
- 2 IR EMITTERS, 1 IR RECEIVER – calculates the distance between an object and the pedal and generates a CV signal according to the measured distance. The CV output of this sensor appears as a CV output on the patch bay from where you can route it to the CV input of your desired, to-be modulated feature.
The In’s and Out’s of the Patch bay
- AUDIO IN – plug your sound source here.
- HI PASS, BAND PASS, LO PASS – outputs of the three respective filter characteristics. All three filter outputs are available at the same time.
- SEQUENCER – CV output of the control voltage generated by the sequencer and CUTOFF knob.
- EXT. CLOCK – CV input for the clock generator of the sequencer. Applying a clock signal here lets you control/sync the speed of the sequencer by external clock sources. Try it with the built-in motion sensor!
- SEQ. RESET – CV input of the sequencer. Every time a gate signal (rising edge trigger) is fed into this CV input, the sequencer is reset and starts again at step 1. Nicely playable with the built-in motion sensor.
- CUTOFF – CV input that lets you control the cutoff frequency of the filter with an external CV source or the built-in motion sensor.
- RESONANCE – CV input that lets you control the resonance of the filter by means of an external CV source of the built-in motion sensor.
- SENSOR – CV output of the onboard motion sensor for usage with CV inputs on the pedal, other
- KOMA Elektronik pedals or other voltage-controlled devices.
